Claude Thompson Elementary School

Paciulli, Simmons & Associates conducted a feasibility study and provided complete engineering design and surveying services for the renovation of Claude Thompson Elementary School located in Fauquier County, Virginia.

Design items considered as part of the expansion included providing accessibility improvements, eliminating existing portable classroom trailers, modifying outdoor play areas, construction of a new staff parking lot, improving vehicular flow of traffic, and construction of a new visit parking log with student drop-off loop.

Major civil engineering design work tasks in the preparation of the construction documents included Boundary and topographic surveying; Special exception plat approvals; Septic system evaluation and repair; Water well delivery system and storage tank; Wetlands permitting; Design of two bioretention facilities; Off-site road improvements; Accessibility improvements; Landscaping; Erosion and sediment controls and other environmental permitting; and Construction administration.
