Phase I Cultural Resources Survey of the English Oaks Development
Conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey for the proposed 48-acre English Oaks housing development in Leesburg, Virginia. This survey was designed to identify and record cultural resources located in and/or near the area of potential effect. The phase I survey included background research, visual inspection and subsurface testing. Background research consisted of a review of records maintained by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources in Richmond. Fieldwork consisted of excavating 682 shovel test probes within the area of potential effect and visually inspecting the area.
